CBD oil was touted as being a cure-all for sets from anxiety to despair, but professionals say more human scientific studies are had a need to back the claims up
CBD is every-where today, with a-listers like Kristen Bell touting its anti-inflammatory advantages, Tamra Judge attempting to sell a health health supplement line for healthier functioning and Michael J. Fox using it to alleviate medical ailments.
So can there be any truth to the buzz?
“It’s an extremely promising compound and there are a great number of studies that show its potential,” says Dr. Kevin Hill, addiction psychiatrist and Director associated with the Division of Addiction Psychiatry at Beth Israel Deaconess infirmary. “But while pre-clinical or studies that are animal CBD could have anti-anxiety properties and might be antipsychotic, in the most common of uses, there isn’t plenty of evidence.”
